PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON TC ORDER FOR ADVANCE RULINGS
Pursuant to Section 1105 (Implementing Rules and Regulations) of Republic Act 10863, otherwise known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA), a public consultation was conducted last 15 November 2016 on the draft TC Order on the Procedure on Application for An Advance Ruling on Tariff Classification under Section 1100 of the CMTA. PUBLIC HEARING ON MONITORING OF NEWSPRINT INDUSTRY
Pursuant to Section 16 of Republic Act 8800 (Safeguard Measures Act), the Tariff Commission is currently monitoring developments in the domestic newsprint industry, including the progress and specific efforts made by workers and firms to make a positive adjustment to import competition. A public hearing was held on 9 November 2016.
Deadline for submission of position papers: 15 November 2016.
PUBLIC HEARING ON AHTN 2017
Pursuant to Sections 1608/1609 of Republic Act 10863, otherwise known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act, a public hearing will be conducted on the 2017 version of the ASEAN Harmonized Tariff Nomenclature (AHTN).
The hearing will be held on 06 October 2016 (Thursday), 9:00 a.m. at the Tariff Commission Conference Room.

PUBLIC HEARING: STPP AND TSPP UNDER ACFTA
Pursuant to Sections 1608/1609 of Republic Act 10863, otherwise known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act, a public hearing will be conducted on the request of Trenton Marketing Corporation and SBS Philippines Corporation for the elimination of the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area (ACFTA) rates of duty on Sodium Tripolyphosphate and Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate.
The hearing will be held on 06 October 2016 (Thursday), 2:00 p.m. at the Tariff Commission Conference Room.

PUBLIC HEARING ON AHKFTA
Pursuant to Sections 1608/1609 of Republic Act 10863, otherwise known as the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act, a public hearing was held on Philippine participation in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations-Hong Kong, China Free Trade Area (AHKFTA) negotiations, specifically with respect to its impact on Philippine tariffs imposed on products falling under Chapters 1 to 97 of the 2012 ASEAN Harmonized Tariff Nomenclature (AHTN).

NOTICE OF FORMAL INVESTIGATION: TESTLINER BOARD
Pursuant to Republic Act No. 8800 (Safeguard Measures Act), the Tariff Commission hereby gives Notice that the petition of the Philippine Testliner Board Industry for final extension of the safeguard measure against importations of testliner board (AHTN 2012 Codes 4805.24.00, 4805.25.10, and 4805.25.90) from various countries is now under formal investigation. A Preliminary Conference was held on 17 March 2016. The Order of Preliminary Conference issued on 18 March 2016 contains the agreements reached during the Preliminary Conference. The Public Hearing was held on 3 May 2016.

Having met the requirements of ISO 9001:2015 (Quality Management Systems), the Management System of the Tariff Commission on the Issuance of Advance Ruling on Tariff Classification under Section 1100 of the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (including the support processes) was successfully registered on 02 December 2018.
The Commission subsequently hurdled the annual surveillance audits held on 25 October 2019 and 23 October 2020 and received its Attestations for Continued Certification on 26 November 2019 and 05 November 2020, respectively.
